Have you ever received the Lord Jesus Christ into your life? You may ask, “Why do I need to ask Jesus to be my Savior?” This is the most important question of your life -- your soul is at stake. What value do you put on your soul? The Bible says, "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" Mark 8:36
Lets see what else the Bible, God’s Word, says about this!
You Must Realize That God Loves You
God loves you and has a plan for your life. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. No matter what you have done in your past, God still loves you.
The Bible Says That All Men Are Sinners.
Notice the word "all." No matter how hard you try not to sin, you still fail, just like everyone else. It is our sins that separate us from God. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."Romans 3:23. God made man in His own image but He gave us free will. He gave us the ability to choose right from wrong. Unfortunately, we continue to do the things God calls sin, and because of this, it is our sins that keep us from God.
Most people think, "I'm a better person than most of the people in the world." It doesn't matter because no matter how good you think you are living your life, you will always, “come short of the glory of God.” We can never come close to the "glory of God" on our own.
God’s Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For! "For the wages of sin is death...." Romans 6:23. …” Wages means payment. The payment of our sin is death and hell, separation from God forever. If we continue in our sin, we shall die without Christ and be without God forever in a place the Bible calls Hell.
The sad part is that in order to go to Hell after you die, you don’t have to do anything because going to Hell (Bible calls this the second death) is the natural consequence of sin whether we like it or not. “…but he that believeth not is condemned already…” John 3:18.But if we decide otherwise we don’t have to pay this debt because … The Good News Is That Christ Paid For Our Sins
All of our sins were laid on Christ while He was on the cross. He paid our sin debt for us -- a debt we could never pay. The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and arose from the dead on the third day. He is alive forevermore.
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8. God loves us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to earth, to be born of a virgin, to live the sinless life you and I could never live, and pay the price for sin once and for all. As Jesus was on the cross, He willingly took my sins and your sins and He died in our place. He became our substitute! Therefore, salvation can only come from Jesus Christ. The Bible also says about Jesus, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12.
You may be thinking, "How do I receive this salvation from God?" That is the best part -- you just have to accept it. Yes, it is that simple!
We Must Personally Accept This Gift From Jesus By Faith!
Romans 6:23 would be a sad Bible verse if it stopped where we did above. It says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." It is a free gift from God -- all you have to do is accept it! The Bible says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13. It also says, " That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9 Notice a couple of things from these verses. Romans 10:13 says, "whosoever" -- no one is excluded and that includes you! Yes, that evens means you -- if you desire it. Also, God promises that you “shalt be saved,” not "may be saved." It is a guarantee from God!
You Must Come To Christ in Repentance And Receive Christ As Your Saviour
All you have to do to accept this free gift from God is to repent of your sin and ask for salvation. Just say a prayer something like this: “Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. If I died today, I would not go to heaven because of my sins. Forgive my sins, come into my life, and be my Savior. I know You were born of a virgin, lived the sinless life I could never live, died on the cross for my sins, and rose again to life on the third day. Help me live for you from this day forward. Thank you God for this free gift of salvation! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
You Can Now Begin Your New Life
Everlasting life begins when we receive Christ as our Savior. You are now what the Bible calls “Born Again.” You have forever removed that burden of sin and can now live for Jesus Christ.
Do not trust your feelings -- they will always change. You can now stand on the promises of God. Remember, God can not lie! If you sincerely prayed and asked Jesus to save you from your sins, you can be sure you will spend eternity in heaven because you have His Word on it!
